brand identity & vibe
I wanted to design a brand that exuded expertise and refinement, aligning with the status of her clients.
As Jocelynn was attracting more high-profile clients, she wanted brand visuals to match. Deep neutral tones felt elevated and allowed us to highlight specific styling details, and brand imagery focused on people of color so her client base felt right at home immediately.
logo design
I created seven different brand marks to give her ultimate flexibility.
With all the different collateral she wanted to create and use in her business, Jocelynn was searching for a variety of logos to use that had their own flair, but ultimately were consistent and recognizable.
typography
The type palette evokes modern sophistication.
I paired a contemporary serif heading with a monospace subheading to give things a classic feel with modern edge. The monospace contrasted nicely with the extended logo font we used. Finally, I added an organic, hand-written script font accent for a touch of approachability and humanness.
Website design
Colors, images, and conversion copy brought everything to the next level on the website.
Jocelynn’s services, client testimonials, and call-to-actions are presented cleanly and clearly. Everything from site animations and photography choices to the type choices elevate everything she has to offer in the best way possible.
The site is exactly what it should be, nothing more, nothing less. Everything on it exists for a distinct and clear purpose.
Hover to Scroll
I used custom features to elevate the user experience of her site in every way possible.
Jocelynn’s website is visited by two kinds of people: prospects and clients. The site needed to work for both kinds of users, without prioritizing one over the other. I implemented clean and effective custom solutions so that no matter who was on the site, they knew exactly where to go to find the information they were searching for.
project documentation
Since Jocelynn would be creating marketing materials and other collateral herself, documentation was key.
She received a 15-page brand guide, as well as individual guides on fonts and colors so she could easily and effectively create things on-brand.
And as with any website I create, it’s incredibly important to me that editing and updating the site is as simple as possible. Any CSS styling could be easily triggered without needing to write or edit any code. I created a multi-page document on Jocelynn’s website, explaining how to edit and trigger certain CSS code with things like section height, and type formatting.
